El Santiago Bernabéu, antes del pitido inicial

As it does every week, La Liga has published its formal complaint submitted to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission. The document includes “chants that occur during football matches that incite violence or contain insulting or intolerant content,” which are prohibited and therefore subject to sanctions.

Regarding the Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona played at the Santiago Bernabéu, two repeated chants have been recorded.

First, 35 minutes before kickoff and again in the 2nd minute, a group of home fans located in the ‘Grada Fans RMCF’ section, specifically in the Fondo Sur, chorused for approximately 10 seconds: “Puta Barça, puta Barça, eh.”

Additionally, the report mentions that on two occasions before the match began, another group of home fans in the same ‘Grada Fans RMCF’ section chanted: “Olelê, olalá, ser del Barça es, ser un subnormal” (a derogatory phrase targeting Barcelona supporters).

La Liga’s complaint does not include further chants against the Barcelona team or its fans, but according to several witnesses at the match, other chants such as “Puta Catalunya” and “Es polaco el que no bote” also occurred.

As expected, Barcelona faced a hostile atmosphere at the Bernabéu. Beyond the chants, home fans also directed whistles at Barcelona players, particularly Lamine Yamal every time he touched the ball. The tension spilled onto the pitch, leading to several confrontations between players from both sides and generating numerous controversial statements and heated exchanges that have circulated in the media since the match ended.

In addition to the Clásico, La Liga also reported chants directed at Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García during the Espanyol vs. Elche match: “In the 35th minute, a group of home fans located in Gol Cornellá, sectors 109, 110, and 111, members of the ‘Grada Canito’ supporters’ section, chorused for approximately 20 seconds the chant ‘Queremos la cabeza de Joan’ (We want Joan’s head), referring to FC Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García.”

Home fans were not the only ones targeting the Catalan club: “In the 42nd minute, a group of VISITING fans, located in Gol de El Prat de Llobregat, sectors 229, 230, and 231, chorused for 15 seconds the chant ‘Puta Barça,’ which was echoed by local fans in different sections of the stadium.”
