Portuguese full-back João Cancelo, currently on loan at Barcelona from Saudi club Al Hilal, launched a scathing attack on the Saudi side after winning the La Liga title with the Blaugrana.
Cancelo played a key role in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in Sunday’s Clásico, which secured the club’s 29th league title.
In an interview with DAZN, Cancelo revealed that Al Hilal’s management had not been straightforward with him and failed to tell him the truth.
“They assured me I would be included in Al Hilal’s league squad, but when the decisive moment came, they didn’t follow through,” Cancelo said.
“After that, they accused me of having a bad personality. But I am a man who keeps his promises and never goes back on his word.”
He concluded: “I decided to move forward. I’m here, I’ve won a title with Barcelona, and I’m happy.”
