The world No. 24, Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, spoke about her upcoming fourth-round match at the WTA-1000 tournament in Rome, Italy, against Latvia’s Elena Ostapenko.
“In the next match, you have a tough opponent – Elena Ostapenko. What can you say about her? How do you need to play to handle her?”
“When does this interview come out? So she doesn’t read it.”
“Before the match. So, without revealing your secrets, just tell us about her game – what makes her dangerous.”
“She’s dangerous because of her shots – she’s a very aggressive player. The ball comes off her racket with a lot of pace and goes into the corners. So it’s important to move her around. Our last match in Dubai was very tough, of course. Plus, this is a different surface. We’ve never played each other on clay, so we’ll see how it goes. A different surface means a slightly different game. But I’ll prepare and we’ll see,” Kalinskaya said.
